How do I order?

To get the ball rolling please email me at mangoandpippin@gmail.com with as much information as you can, such as the date you need the cake, how many guests it is for, and any flavour or theme ideas. I will then send you some initial ideas and pictures with prices for you to choose from, and we will arrive at your dream cake! We are registered and insured!

Do I need to pay a deposit?

I will need to finalise your design and have a 50% deposit paid 2 weeks before your order date to secure your date and cover the cost of any bits I might need to order for your cake. This deposit is non-refundable if you cancel your cake less than 7 days before your date, but I will offer you credit towards a new booking on a new date. Cancellations more than 7 days in advance will be refunded subject to an admin fee of £5.

How long will my order take?

Bespoke cakes take time and planning to create. For this reason I will require 2 weeks’ notice for bespoke orders. If you need a cake in a hurry check out my shop for cakes to order with a shorter lead time.

How do I look after my cake?

Please keep your cake on a level surface at all times. Transport it in the boot of your car or, if it will fit, in the footwell. Never transport the cake on the seat of the car as this may result in damage.

Keep the cake in a cool place but do not refrigerate. Moisture and odours in the fridge can affect the appearance and taste of your cake.

There may be skewers, toothpicks and/or dowels in your cake. These will be pointed out to you at collection. Please carefully remove decorations before serving your cake.

How much cake do I need?

Most of our round cakes will be 3 layers of sponge, so about 5- 6 inches tall. How many people a cake will feed really depends on who’s doing the slicing, but generally speaking a 6” cake will feed 8-15, and 8” 15-30. Number and letter cakes will vary according to the number or letter chosen and I can advise on that.

Do you deliver? Can I collect?

Unfortunately at this time we cannot offer cake delivery. In certain circumstances (i.e. wedding cakes) I will bring the cakes in a taxi and set them up at the venue, but there is a fee for this including taxi fare and my time. For all other cake orders it is collection only. A week or so before your date we will organise a convenient time for you to collect your cake. Cookies and other bakes which can be posted will be dispatched via Royal Mail first class post or 24 hour tracked delivery.

Do you cater for allergies?

I bake in my home kitchen, so unfortunately I can never say for sure my bakes are free of traces of allergens. If you have a life threatening allergy I am not the baker for you! Please see individual cake listings or ask me for more information regarding specific allergens in each cake, as some cakes are naturally dairy free, for example,
